Not having friends with similar interests? Your thoughts?

Hi, I'm 15 years old and a fan of bl (I know! SHOCK! HORROR!)

I'm here to ask people their experiences on friendships, especially if you have typical "outcast" hobbies.

If you're over 18, has becoming an adult helped you gain independence and find more friends who like manga/ bl/ yaoi/any nerdy interest you have? Were you lonely as a teen? When did you have your first true friend with the same interests? If you live by yourself, has exploring your yaoi endeavours become easier OR has work made you lose touch with new up and coming BLs?

If you're a teenager, do you have friends at school with the same interest? Are you lonely at school? How have you been coping during coronavirus? (●'◡'●)ノ Please reply !!

Teenager here. I do have friends with the same interests, but I'm more into it then they are. Never really been lonely is school. Doing well during the Pandemic, the oldest person I know that is a Yaoi fan is 32 years old, if that's what you are looking for.

I have friends in my school that have the same interest as me :) My close friends know I read BL and honestly don't give a fuck, I sometimes talk to them about BL characters even if they don't read BL they still make jokes with me... Sadly I won't be able to go to campus with them since we were split up into specific groups and only go to school once a week and online for the rest

I`m 23 years old and the first yaoi that I have read was a doujinshi for haikyuu and it was an omegaverse I wasn't really confident that I should talk to my friend about it cause they aren't even otaku and one day I was asking one of my friend for some manhwa to read and she was showing me some in her phone it was at this moment that I saw some BL on her phone I was happy and now it's always our main subject

I’m 16 and hm...I have some friends that know I’m reading yaoi, and this certain one just blurted out some sentences in class in the shock of me revealing my hobbies. And because of that, I believe my classmates now think I’m frequently reading porn lol. It does not bother me tho, like I’d give a fck in what their opinions might be. They are all judgy people anyway so why should I let it bother me and let it bring me down? ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
I’m not lonely, I enjoy sitting and reading mangas without someone in my life to share my reviews with. I prefer to leave my reading experiences and meanings here on mangago, so that people that’re actually interested, could check it out if they want to. I’ve found people here on mangago with the same interests and meanings that I’d gladly share my opinions about mangas with rather than the friends outside this community, and I think I like it that way. I do have a few friends that read manga and watch anime, but we don’t share the same tastes and preferences:/
