It make me feel uneasy, when I was younger I liked one girl, she was amazing, intelligent, we were so compatible and enjoy the each other company.. so I said that I liked her (one of my bravest moments) and she was just, "I like u too, but you are a girl, we can't be together", I changed school and some years after, I found that she got a girlfriend... I feeled strange, I was inevitable think, "maybe girls wasn't the real problem"

I like to think it. It's just a bit unpleasant that our times was different and in the end don't coincide

I know this might not help much, but it works the other way around too: you meet someone, who you shouldn't have met earlier, but when you do, it's perfect.
I don't know if that makes sense, but to illustrate: my boyfriend and I are from two different cultures and two different religions. He liked partying, I liked reading. He's super hot and I didn't care much about my looks. Our paths must have crossed a hundred times, but we didn't meet until our mid-20s. By that time, we had become a perfect match, and willing to choose love over the familiar (which would've been a partner with the same culture and religion). It's been 6 years since and we plan to get married soon.
So what I'm trying to say is, sometimes it's good that timelines don't match up. As we grow more mature, we find and reconcile with our true self, which improves the chances of finding a perfect partner.
    Sorry for rambling! ( ̄∇ ̄")
