I don't get all the hate for Jieun besides Tia being scared of her because of the prince. Did I miss something she did? Cause if she wants to smirk let her, in reality Jieun was also wronged by God and put in a weird situation regardless.

Because she is acting like that despite knowing everything that Tia has gone through, including the fact that because of her Tia had to do all the work she was incapable of. She can't even feel guilt about wrongfully letting Tia get executed but instead blame Tia who "did not tell her she was innocent"... She is messed up in the head and antagonize her when she is a victim too. And so many things more.

For me, God is the true villain here + Zena. And people who hate Jieun the most are the ones who read the novel. Still, I place Jieun as a spoiled thing that thought she deserved it all, caring only for herself, but she is not truly evil.

Its not direct, but she did play a role at ruining her life in the past and present. But if u look the story from her pov, you could understand why she did the things she did. I dont express strong hatred, but i dont like tbh

Does it say somewhere that she knew Tia's whole life story??? Because from her perspective she was just tossed into a different world, found the love of her life which then slept with Tia and got her pregnant (which was a huge shock cause she thought they were friends). And if she never came wouldn't Tia have gotten the SAME WORK?? And Tia was not wrongly executed, she literally tried to kill the prince. Anyone looking in would obviously think Tia was in the wrong-

Yuuup God sucks. And everything in novels is always 200 times worse than in the comic so I wouldn't base anything on it. And no 1 cared about anyone the first time around except Tia and her dad who didn't show it and the prince and Jieun which was just fated-

You only think that because you haven't read the novel... She wasn't even in love with Ruve and her smiles were faked. As for the execution, as usual she believed everything she was told. As the Empress, I hold her accountable for not properly investigating. The worst part is when she found out that Tia was innocent after all she didn't feel guilt, she instead blamed Tia for not telling her that she was wrongfully accused... She is an horrible human being, period.

And the "innocent" part was about the attack on Ji-eun, which started everything. She wasn't there when Tia assaulted Ruve, so she might have started to doubt what she was told.

Also, she was fully aware that Tia was Ruve's wife too. She was the official concubine. The fact that she didn't like it don't change anything, even more so when the said concubine do all the work you are supposed to do. She don't get to play the victim. The fact that God ruined her lie is infortunate. But she is the one who did the rest on her own accord and ruined contless lives in the process. So, in both timeline I say karma got to her.

For some reason I can't bring myself to Jieun, I see both Tia and Jieun as victims of a shitty god that didn't bother to fix his mistake on its own. He can talk with those priests without a problem and he didn't bother to do anything in the previous timeline.

Fo example, he could have asked the high priest to do what he did in this timeline. Like mentioning just this very tiny thing, that both are children of the stupid prophecy. If he did so, most of the bullshit could have been diverted.

I don't equate the novel and comic because its not always following the same story. And I think you forget she was a TEENAGE girl from ANOTHER WORLD. Expecting her to do everything Tia can do is ridiculous. Also in our world majority of people are devoted to ONE person so she's still going to be shocked when Tia just comes out as pregnant. And why exactly would she feel guilt for a girl that literally looked down on her and never spoke up about anything. Is she supposed to just feel sorry for a girl she didn't really know, what's that gonna do?
She seems like a teenager just trying to deal with the cards God gave to her and I can't hate her for that just because Tia had a sadder life-

I am not belittling her for not being able to do the Empress job, I am belittling her for being an horrible selfish person incapable of owning to her mistakes, feeling compassion or even acting decently. For the novel, yes, the manhwa can turn out different. They already had to change scenes to tone down the chemistry with the others love interest and making Ruve less of a jerk. So, who knows.

On the top of my head (spoilers from the novel, so please proceede with caution)

    - She blames Tia for others making the comparaison between them, because Tia "should not have worked so hard"... Does she even realize that the "work" she was doing was literally taking care of thousand of citizens? Seriously, how is she feeling so much inferiority complex toward someone she was berely talking to anyway?
    - She blames Tia for not telling her she was innocent and "ruining everything" by getting executed rather than feeling pity or guilt.
    - She manipulated Ruve away from Tia because of an inferiority complex (no jalousy involved since she don't love him) and dispite being married to him several years didn't try to understand him better. This is how he realised she didn't love him and lied about it since the beggining: not only does she not know his taste, she think that everyone would love the same things than her. That is called being self-centered.
    - She actively fight and go against a non fighting Tia who just want to be left alone, even insulting her and belittle her efforts to have a better life this time around.
    - She manipulate everyone in both timeline. Don't trust her smiles, it was clearly established that she is faking them. She is not an "innocent person at heart", for exemple she accepted to marry Ruve to escape from the streets. Fine, but she also accepted to become Empress when she was incapable of writing and reading of all things. She was not a "teenager" by the way. She was 18 years old, old enough to know better than take a position of power in a world she didn't know and a langage she couldn't read.
    - She play the spy game on her own and doing so make everything harder for everyone involved. What excuse did she have to not say to Tia "By the way, here is what really happened on our first life, let's cooperate to take down the man who ruined our lives"? And when she fails to do anything and is eventualy sentenced to death she expect clemence when she knew that Zena whole family was going to be executed if the treason was proven, that she manipulated everyone (Ruve called her out on it, they used each others so they don't owe each other anything) and so on. She was only saved because she did one thing right, saving Tia once, that made Tia have a debt toward her.

If you look closely, her ending in both timeline is the exact karma she got for her actions
=> She manipulated Ruve away from the only clever person capable of helping him save the Empire, turned a blind eye from the abuse Tia suffered by fear or having the same treatment and being abandoned too, is one of the cause of Tia miscarriage and so on => is abandoned too, lose her life and her child because of the shift of power created by the bad guy that she knew was not a good person beforehand (he was the one who pushed her to become Empress and was clearly trying to manipulate her).
=> She decided to manipulate even more, including targeting the other victim, and being incapable of doing anything by alienating herself precious helpers and acting too pridefull, others had to do the job in her place. She choosed to side with Zena knowing what could happen in the end, but when it eventually do happen she play the victim card again... BUT she finally did one good deed. She was spared the death penalty and was allowed to fake her death.

Honestly just seems like typical stuff for every other isekai female lead. Dropped into an unknown world and manipulates people so she won't die. I never said she was an innocent person but its just kinda obvious you gotta do what you gotta do to live. Tia didn't like her and she didn't like Tia so I'm just gonna leave it as girls who were just fated to not be friends.
And according to everyone else Ruve was drugged or whatever. Regardless I'm not going to blame Jieun for him clearly being a sack of shit long before she even got there just because she was "manipulative" because all these isekai stories are women manipulating everyone so they won't die.

    Sharmoon July 16, 2020 4:00 pm

Mokona44, the novel makes Jieun a bitch. The webtoon so far did not reach the state where her true colours are revealed so it is hard for people who did not read to see her blame. I for one, I am stuck at that shitty god.

He literally TALKS to people and did not bother to give people some context of the prophecy? You isekai your ,,beloved child” on the street and left her no other seemly good choice but to go to that bastard of a junkie? Like for real? What was the thing you wanted exactly? He KNEW that the blue head was drugged with angsty feelings, and nothing? He knew that inside his emo heart he loved Tia. You leave your beloved with that? He knew that things were out of place before he isekaied the girl. ヽ(`Д´)ノ
