from what i understood, 704 sleeps w/ Geumsun only bcs of the guilt he has 4 San. also, 704 is not his real name (he was a prisoner/criminal) so he was given this number as nickname, his crime or sin is still unknown tho. that's all i understood T_T

Geumsun asked 704 if he's still feeling guilty about what happened with San, so I assume that maybe 704 had something to do with the incident that stripped San off all his previous memories. The author said that this series will have 3 seasons, so I think we'll eventually get to 704's past.
