they're already married & some chapters ago he realized he had fallen for her...we know she "secretly" has feelings for him but she still thinks it's not allowed to have those feelings because of some weird-ass circumstance he had (stupidly) put in place earlier & the fact he initially backed off after she made an expression that betrayed the fact she was in love with him...basically the male lead's past self put his current-self in a weird position (he cockblocked HIMSELF) so now we're waiting on him to correct the misunderstanding. She probably still thinks he's only concerned because they're married & she has the official title/position of being his spouse. In other words--the ML's a moron but YES they are a couple in all but the physical sense (because that moron cockblocked himself with all that bullcrap insinuating he did about how he couldn't "love" her but now he actually does).
