Give me your unpopular opinion about yaoi here's mine-
A lot of times I wish the mc would fall in love with the 2nd male lead

not just yaoi, a love triangle in general unless the actual love interest is good/the 2nd male lead sucks. Such example is "abandoned emperess", I want her to fall for Carsein but alas, he is clearly not the main love interest.( ̄へ ̄)That is why i much rather tend to avoid any love triangle/harem drama unless the plot is good enough for me to think it is worth going through all the angst and drama ~

awkward semes (not like a cold awkward type, just a genuinely awkward seme) should be more popular, I'm sick of rich hot dominant cold but sweet smoking daddy issue mommy issue CEO semes

nothing on the most popular page is good, except like three things. Because people think art and sex is equivalent to good, solid plot. This pushes genuinely good manga out of the spotlight.

idk if it's unpopular but yaoi is sexier in manga format and b&w instead of in the webtoon colored style.

    1. A lot of popular yaoi have really bad art. Mostly the classics (like Junjou Romantica), but many newer ones do too.

    2. Stoic seme aren't hot. They're just boring pricks. Please just blush or something.

    3. Blushy uke aren't cute. They're just annoying, being all coy and going "ahn ahn ahhh ahhh kyaah" during sex. And when they're really skinny and short and basically girls with dicks and self-lubricating assholes I just can't.

    4. A lot of fujos, when asked, say that they prefer yaoi over shoujo because the characters and plots are more interesting and diverse. But they're lieterally not. Other than a few rare gems, everything's the same. Yaoi is just shoujo smut with two male leads.

I don’t like the stereotypical seme that’s forceful, possessive, dominating or is so stoic he can’t even apologize like a normal human being. Who tf would wanna be in a relationship with someone like that? And the whole ‘uke must be small and cute and seme big asshole’ and there’s no such thing as switching or even discussion about positions. Ugh.
