bro it's not that serious... The point is that literature and art – including manga – which focus on police yet ignore the systemic abuse they contrubute to is dangerous. Period. It's all fun and games when the cop character has a nice little relationship and is helping old women and children, but in reality him and his peers contrubite to a culture of brutality and racism. Note that Japan has had several of it own protests against police brutality this summer.

Your argument would’ve been more valid if the focus of this story was regarding his job as a policeman. But it isn’t. Don’t look for problems where there isn’t any in a BL manga.
