Now I get why I love japanese films.
Reading mangavmade me appreciate every angle the cinematographer or the director in japanese media tends to choose in showing their style
Manga style panelling and layout are the same and the source of my taste with this...
You just summed it up nicely so thank you!
Oh I didn't wanna bash the translator or anything. It's really just that I like the original manga layout more. Ultimately the mangaka also chose to publish the story in webtoon form. And I understand their decision to go with the times and try out the webtoon format to make it more internet friendly.
I like the story and it's really funny
But I don't like how they changed the layout and how suddenly it changed (from chapter one to two)
The feeling of an original Manga Layout and a webtoon are really different. In manga the whole page is like a scene and each panel interacts with each other. In webtoon it's more like a series of events. And the panels stand more for themselves.
Based on that you have to weight the importance of panels differently.
It's hard to explain but the flow is just different. And it takes a while to fit the style from one to the other and get a feeling for the right placement. So that it doesn't seem as if the panels of an original manga layout were cut out and just placed after each other.
I really like the story and the author so I'm a bit disappointed at the change since I really liked the first version. But I'm looking forward to their progress.
