Momo, for some reason, didn't had any customers that night so he was playing with make up and kimonos (many kagemas were also kabuki actors for feminine roles so they were allowed to wear makeup), Anii was sleeping but he hears Momo and his friends and gets out of the room and kiss Momo, the alarm rings telling everyone that working hours are finish, both of them go home by the end, that my opinion but I can't say that is 100% (=・ω・=)

I think that's because the story mixes past and present sometimes? I don't see many other reasons for them to be in the brothel and what the lady said leads me to believe that Momo was working.
