I believe that Hamel Bray somehow learned of the future through magic and wrote the book shortly after in order to remember everything that took place or warn others. I want to believe that he's a good person, so i dont think he will decieve Ginger more than needed (as in nothing bad will happen to her, or "ignorance is bliss"). As he was the second male lead in the original story, he decided to deviate from it so that he wouldn't fall for Lerajie and get hurt again. After he learned of the future, he decided to help the other people that would be hurt in the original story, aka Ginger Torte Kiki. He doesn't seem to be doing anything to stop Kiki from reading the book after he stole it. (Does Hamel know that Kiki stole it? That would explain why he didn't question Ginger's fake book.) He isn't stopping Kiki from reading it because its a part of his plan to change the future and stop them from getting hurt again. I just hope that he is doing this as a grudge toward Lerajie for not accepting him and not because he's upset with King Izana for some reason...
