They mentioned how the devils would encounter the army with the senpais and miranda so shin and co. decided it was faster to just chase the devils so they could go help the army on the way.
the gate must be something you need an exact location for rather than just random teleporting so they might miss their comrades who do not have the power to fight devils.
What about Shin's can teleport gate???
