You may not like the relationship but not incest. And yeah, sometimes they should make a synopsis clear enough. But by the end of the day, not blood related, no incest. Let's call a dog a dog
No, it's not technically incest but it's weird. Just because someone isn't blood related that doesn't mean they're not your family. The biggest part of being a family is the emotional ties and I think Hari needs Eugene more as a brother than a boyfriend. It's fiction and based in a made up historical world so if you like it whatever I don't think you're an evil pervert, but people aren't off base to think it's weird.
But from this chapter we could see that she spent more time growing up with Johanes and also technically could see him as a brother by that logic. She lived with Eugine less and their ties have been thinned bcs they didn't see each other for 6 years. Also they will only now start falling in love so idk I think we should all wait and see and judge then, not be judgmental now when nothing even developed.
They were siblings for over 20 years in the original timeline so collectively it's probably close to 30 years that Hari has considered Eugene her brother (even though they had a bad relationship). Close childhood friends and adoptive families are different, and from the beginning Hari considered Johannes her future husband. I know she also called Johannes "brother" at one point but that's because it's a Korean story and the term "oppa" is used for older boys a girl is close to, not just their brothers.
''Close childhood friends and adoptive families are different'', but Ernst and Eugene are her adoptive family as well. She may have looked at Johannes as her future husband before, but I think in this life that she has spent a lot of her child years with him she started viewing him as a brother/close friend. Also she was in love with Eugene even in her first life, she just didn't realize it. For Eugene as well, he loved her in his first life, and this time (from his point of view) they didn't spend as much time together as in the last, so maybe it will be easier for him to start that type of relationship. Hari also never thought about the possibility of that ever happening, but maybe if Eugene starts first she will realize. Also even in the first life, their relationship was different from the other two brothers and I think we could see that in the flashbacks. At the end of the day, everyone has their own opinion and I respect yours as well! The novel is already finished and the pairing is decided, but I hope that you will like the story. (=・ω・=)
It's definitely an agree to disagree situation and I'm personally dropping this story. I have a lot of step/adopted family members so I am very aware that legally and emotionally someone who is adopted into your family is different than a close friend. Someone who is not close to their legal family and was "adopted" by their friend's family may feel differently than me and that's okay too. I don't think this story encourages real world people to marry their adopted sibling so in this case separating fiction from reality is fine. The biggest problem is that a lot of readers feel blindsided by how the plot developed because they didn't want to get into spoilers.
Because Johan was introduced in the first chapter and it was established later that he is a very nice boy who likes Hari I thought this series would be smooth sailing (as in none of the brothers would be romantically involved with Hari). Boy was I wrong.
I wish more series would realize some people's wish fulfillment is to have a doting brother and that's it, no incest please. I've always wanted to have a cool older brother so that's what got me interested in this story but now I'm just kinda yikes.
