I love that they’re bringing up the possibility of undoing bonds, since it’s something that is rarely ever mentioned. But it does feel really weird to find out that it’s possible for the pair to be undone in the first place. I’ve read so much omegaverse in the past and the fact that bonding with someone meant you were “tied to them” forever was a pretty consistent driving point. There’s even a manga I read where the whole plot was about a paired omega and his struggles with being in love with his beta friend, because him being bonded didn’t allow him to have sex with him without throwing up. Idk, it’s pretty cool to know that Utou will finally date someone, but it feels as if the stakes are severely lowered when you introduce the idea that “it can be undone”. Sure, the doctor said it’s a dangerous produce and whatnot, but it doesn’t have the same feel as him remaining as a bonded omega, despite how sad that would be.
