at first the story was mad intriguing, i really liked the concept of an affair between a civilian tattoo artist and a yakuza client. i even liked the idea of the main character overcoming his abusive relationship and moving onto a healthier one, but in the end it didn’t really have any sort of real development. the whole thing with the mc and his ex was just so cringe and i hated it so much- yeah of course it’s important to show that some abusive relationships dont start that way and it’s hard to escape one, but it made the mc look so weak. having him go back and stay with his ex after all that shit he put him through just made no sense to me, and honestly really disappointed me. there was no character development that shows the mc growing strong enough to tell his ex no for good, but in the end it just made it seem like he’s this weak person that can never overcome this relationship.

the ending of him meeting up w the yakuza dude felt so rushed and random, like i couldn’t even enjoy it because it was so focused on the ex’s mindset development- which would’ve been good if the mc had his own development first, and we don’t even know how it came to the point of the yakuza dude ending up in korea. the art was fantastic, but the story definitely needed some work

Period. That’s exactly what I thought. Going back should have been them literally fighting. I wanted murder not sparing. I didn’t like that at the end, the mc might have not been free if the ex didn’t spare him. Fuck what that stupid, rapist, abusive, obnoxious, self centered, egoist thought. Fuck his lil redemption arc and sad background story. Being in love does not excuse LOSING human decency. He needs jail not getting a new man. And I really hoped that the uke would get stronger. Because now he might be depending on the seme now. He might have a hard time leaving the seme. He isnt independent. And if he did become independent, I wish we could have seen that.
