Me myself will judge the manga based on the first chapter. If it's interesting, then I'll continue to read it. Most people like that too. Maybe that's y the first chap always long in my opinion.

i just realized that a lot of the sport mangas i've read so far are long when they first start but than they have at most 20 pages to each chapter.
