Me too, a little bit... :(
I thought that the mangaka was going to focused more on the misofobia and build the story of them from that point, just like the first chapters, but suddenly it went to just sexual desire and the story was lost to no found anymore.
But i still like a little

tsk, tsk. it's not sexual assault if you read the story and paid attention to all small details that Shirotani is giving off and Kurose noticing. besides, Kurose's the shrink, he knows better (LOL)

umm? sorry if i sound rude but do you know the definition of sexual assault? if you want, i can go back and cite examples for you if you want proof. and just bc someone is a shrink doesn't mean that they are morally just 100% of the time. imo kurose came off as a pervert. (sorry if this sounds rude i dont mean to be)

rape yaois? really? Are you sure you read the same manga with us lol

@ermerm, haha no, you were not rude (the shrink part was sarcasm). what i meant is that, shrinks more than anybody else observe people. and after a long time observing Shirotani, he realized that Shirotani likedd him back (?) -like when they were at the entrance of his apartment, Shirotani would have stood there all night if Kurose hadn't made the decision for him. and that is Shirotani's problem: indecisiveness.

practically all yaoi mangas have rape in them why are you surprised

@oh lol good i don't want to sound rude.
and in truth, if shirotani didn't verbally say that he liked kurose sexually then kurose should had known better than to jump him. shirotani may had been developing romantic feelings for kurose but it obviously wasn't sexual since shirotani is so obviously sexually repulsed (mostly because of his mental disorder). shirotani was even seen telling kurose to stop, slow down, wait, hold on, let go, and listen multiple times in ch10, shirotani had also forced himself not tell kurose that he found the experience disgusting bc of past trauma that he was definitely not over from. and then afterwards, when kurose asked him if he hated it, shirotani flat out said "i hated it, of course." all the hints that suggested that shirotani held sexual towards kurose were merely suggestive while all the hints that suggested that shirotani was sexual repulsed were outwardly stated. so i don't believe that shirotani had any problems with indecisiveness. it's kurose's problem with his selfishness (since him jumping shirotani only benefited himself and only stressed shirotani more)
but obviously you don't have to agree with everything i say and i dont want to cause an argument. just a discussion!

its starting to build into the same overused trope: seme forces himself onto the uke, then guilt trips the uke with some victim blaming (something along the lines of "you asked for it," "you were falling for me anyway," "you looked too good to pass off," "i wanted to teach you a lesson," "i don't see the problem bc you enjoyed it in the end," etc.), then the uke misinterprets his discomfort around the seme as romantic/sexual attraction and then they end up together and bang.

Did you read the same manga? Just for the record Shirotani asked Kurose to touch him down under and that is consensual, plus Kurose did not put it in. So where is the sexual assault.

there is a clear difference between sexual assault and rape. wiki definition of sexual assault = "any involuntary sexual act in which a person is threatened, coerced, or forced to engage against their will." wiki definition of rape = "type of sexual assault usually involving sexual intercourse (or other forms of sexual penetration)"
if you want the list the phrases/thoughts/speak bubbles that shirotani said/thought in chapter 10 that makes it dangerously clear that he was being sexually assaulted then here you go:
page 6: "no" "plea[se] don't touch" "it's dis[gusting]"
page 7: "wait" "please hold on a second"
page 8: "no" "its not that"
page 11: 'the inside, has become slippery, it feels terrible!'
page 13: "it hur(ts)!" "no"
page 15: "let me go"
page 18: "i hated it of course, doing something like that"
so i don't see how the encounter was consensual sorry

As someone who translate the manga, "i don't see how the encounter was consensual", I definitely don't agree with this. Sorry.
Really... this topic is so tiring already and I really don't care anymore if people think Kurose as an abusive character because people have different opinions. You can think whatever you want. But saying that what happened to them is noncon? I can argue that IT IS NOT.
The most important is that I know/understand what's happening in the actual manga. (but just in case I'll expalin again)
This started in chapters 9 & 10. Anyway when Kurose gave Shirotani a handjob (I guess) in the clinic. 'The argument would be 'is it really "non consensual" or "dubious consent"' and I strongly believe it is dubious consent. Idk how u guys interpret dubcon but for me, (example) in a sexual situation, "Person A" is confused/hesitating and didn't give a direct "yes/consent" to the act, but "A" still goes with the flow. Something like that.
Back to the manga, so in the clinic, when Kurose did that, indeed Shirotani was "kind" of unwilling but that was because he was scared of the thought of germs might spread out on his body. Shirotani is a confused character because of his condition (OCD) but he doesn't reject the idea of the actual sexual stuff. In that chp, you can see he actually got aroused and enjoyed it. That he can only think of Kurose. So that's dubcon.
"But dubcon still falls in the rape category." <-- For me it is not rape, because rape results in BAD consequences for the victim and Shirotani didn't really suffer from it, didn't he? He actually still keeps on meeting Kurose because he trust Kurose alot.
So in chps 11 & 12... that was CONSENSUAL alright? He nodded and urged Kurose to touch him. And he said it himself now in ch13 "Yesterday, on my own, I urged Kurose-kun to touch me." Also if it was sexual assault, he should be running away now from Kurose but instead he let himself be taken to Kurose's home and now they went out together to shop.
As for what happened when Shirotani slapped Kurose's hand away in ch12, that probably triggered a memory/situation that happened to him in the past (thus the reason why he became mysophobic). But that doesn't mean Shirotani didn't like what Kurose did. Shirotani was merely taken by surprise because he's perfectly fine when Kurose touches his hand.
Now for Kurose's side, I think (actually I really do) that Kurose is very respectful. He is very patient, polite and considerate when it comes to Shirotani. Like in chp13, he noticed how Shirotani was tired and made him sit and gave him water or how he cornered/blocked (did i get the right word woops) Shirotani away from the people on the elevator... you know small things like that... he's very considerate..... also the fact that he hasn't kissed Shirotani yet (or go all the way).
"So did Kurose really force Shirotani?" <-- He didn't. Kurose is just pushing the boundaries. He is pushing Shirotani out of his comfort zone and Shirotani knows that because IT IS helping. And please remember that Shirotani is not Kurose's patient. They are not engaged in a doctor-patient relationship. Because from the start, Kurose already made it clear that he will not charge him or will meet him in the clinic. He is doing it as a "friend" (or maybe lover in the future www).
So as long as both parties are okay and Shirotani's not really against it, I don't see any problem here.
I have more details that I can explain but this is really getting longer. Anyway I explained that part so it's up to you whether to still think of it as "noncon" or not. And if it's still disappointing you, then I suggest you to stop reading this manga and just read "shounen ai" instead.
Also I think it is very insulting to the author, the way you said "i can't believe she resorted to using sexual assault :/ " when you actually don't understand the actual content of the manga. And it is her manga, she can do whatever she wants with it. Just saying...
But heeey I'm not trying to pick a fight alright? I guess I'm just trying to be frank so let us all enjoy this beautiful manga and fangirl over it ;D

Yeah. Talk about forcing Shirotani to do things he doesn't want. It's painful.. he always has this saaaaad look in like every chapter. I hope it gets better.

I still really like the plot tho.xD ... it's individuality and unique.

I somewhat like it... but theres something off. Especially the dialogue. It is just weird. I'm not sure if others agree with me that they talk a little strange, but I read the Japanese and even that was weird..

@ikahomine
yikes you sound angry, sorry for annoying you if i did. i was just stating my opinion. you're right, i stated that i only wanted a discussion, no hard feelings!
"For me it is not rape, because rape results in BAD consequences for the victim and Shirotani didn't really suffer from it, didn't he? He actually still keeps on meeting Kurose because he trust Kurose alot."
that is NOT true. an encounter is not determined as rape by the end results/consequences, it is determined by how it was initiated: unwillingly vs willingly. while i do realize that everyone is entitled to their own opinions, this fact is NOT disputable.
but if that is the definition you wish to go by, then you are once again false because shirotani DID face negative consequences after the encounter. he verbally stated pretty clearly that he did not enjoy the experience. he was also pretty stressed afterwards and his mood obviously went down. after reading the apology texts kurose sent him, shirotani is seen fuming while thinking "are you thinking that I'll forgive you for anything if you say love?"
pushing someone's boundaries when they clearly do not wish to have them pushed is wrong, and would also constitute for sexual assault.
and it is not insulting to the author if i say i that. thats feed back. this is something i would honestly not something that i would expect from her because of the sexual assault. most of her works made it pretty clear that consent was given before there was sexual activity. i really liked her work because of that reason. not many yaoi mangas actually do that. thats what i meant.
(and sorry but i think its really uncalled for to tell me to go read another genre just because i found something in one particular manga uncomfortable. i dont mind sexual activity, i just dont like rape and sexual assault/harassment.)
im not angry so sorry if it came off that way! i would like to continue the discussion because i want to hear more of your side of the debate but if you dont want to then i understand!!
am i the only one disappointed by this manga? i mean i loved her other work but i can't believe she resorted to using sexual assault :/
its especially uncomfortable knowing how the shirotani isn't mentally well.
