Unpopular Opinion

I know a lot of people really hate Hye-Sung for leaving and abandoning Byul and just his attitude and general treatment of Dojin/his family. I actually like his character. His brattiness annoys me, but his reaction towards “motherhood” I actually enjoyed. From the beginning he made no secret of the fact that he didn’t want to have a child and was convinced to keep the child by Dojin who wanted it and promised to take care of it. He claimed no part and no responsibility. Up until that last night, before Byul was born, I don’t believe he had any intention of staying with Dojin his actions up until that point made sense to me. He was bratty and annoying, but that was part of his character. I felt no reason to find fault with it other than, “that’s a shitty way to be” and I will not deny that. His rejection of Byul when he was born and his runaway period I think was an important part of his character because it gave him clarity to think about his situation. He had time to think about his life and what he wanted without being influenced by what his “responsibilities” where and for his personality I think that was important. Otherwise he may have come to resent Dojin and Byul for “trapping him”. The other thing I liked about him, personally, is that he represented a group of women who don’t take to being mothers. It is a commonly believed myth that maternal instincts will naturally awaken when the time comes, but it doesn’t happen for everyone. And some people it does happen for are terrible at expressing their feelings naturally. I felt that Hy-Sung’s rejection of Byul after his birth and his inability to properly care for him was in line with his rejection of his whole pregnancy and the idea of being a parent.

Tl;dr
I didn’t hate Hye-Sung because his character and personality made it clear to me he wasn’t committed to being a parent until after Byul was born.

    I’m sure I’ll get attacked a bit, but I image he’s probably somewhat controversial. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

Yeah. I mean, it’s definitely noticeable how much better their relationship gets once Hye-Sung comes back. He commits. He’s not good at a lot of things a Dojin accepts that. But it’s a good story, in my opinion, because they DON’T immediately fall in love with each other. It DOESN’T immediately fall into place. They actually have to work at it, and I enjoy that. The world wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows and sparkly, glittering unicorn butts.

I actually never hate Hyesung character, to be precise, I like Hyesung character. I find his actions towards Dojin reasonable. It’s very normal to hate someone who’d forced sex on you when you’re not conscious and especially when you’re conscious as well. I very much like his actions for not liking Dojin immediately. I often see the same cliche story in omegaverse where after the omega and alpha have sex, the omega immediately come to love the alpha because the sex is good, or it feels good. The only time I feel disappointed in Hyesung character is when he agree to have sex with the other alpha. Although Hyesung act annoying the way he did towards Dojin, it was because he is true to his self about not accepting his fate as an omega. So he ran away even after Dojin heartfelt confession. Him agreeing to having sex with another alpha destroyed his strong belief he held on to and also destroyed the reason why he ran away from Dojin. However, I love him no matter what. Him and Dojin are so cute together with Byul. I love this story.

I found their “sex in heat” situation to be a bit of a grey area for me. Dojin was not really willing at first and Hye-Sung sort of forced him, then the tables got turned, and Hye-Sung wasn’t even in his right mind to begin with which is why I think Dojin was kind of like “no plz...” And it was just a bit of a grey area for me in terms of consent and initiation.

I do think Dojin’s actions at the party were a little extra, and that didn”t do anything to dissuade me from thinking he was like every other Alpha in an Omegaverse. But I know what you mean about Omegas immediately being like “yes, the sex was amazing. You indeed DO have the superior cock. We shall now forever be together to fuck for all eternity. (๑•ㅂ•)و✧“

I feel like I KIND OF know what you mean about Hye-Sung and the other alpha. I felt upset that he agreed to it, but I didn’t feel disappointed or betrayed or anything. I felt that it was sort of in line with his character. Because I felt like he was still trying to run away, and he was trying to hold on to his old life a little bit. I felt like he was still trying to regain the idea of control that he felt like he’d had when he believed he was an alpha.

I know what you mean. I can’t blame Dojin too with their sex in heat. Even Hyesung know it too that he initiated it and is the one escalating the situation. He remember. That’s why I don’t blame Dojin because even Hyesung didn’t do so.

I actually really like Dojin. The way he doted and care for Hyesung is just so loveable. The first thing he think of when they were told about Hyesung shrunk uterus is Hyesung, and how Hyesung is feeling. He’s too adorable.

Yeah. All around I found their relationship to be full of ups and downs but very loveable to me. I thought it was definitely more realistic than a lot of yaoi relationships and I appreciated the heck out of that. They needed to actively WORK on being a couple. But they decided to do that because they eventually decided it was worth it. And I love both of them for it.
