ikr , I just kept on seeing people say they should break up they are toxic , mafuyu and yuki are better , they definitely just want a straight forward approach to romance and cant accept the thrill of it .. haha any way I ship mafuyu and uenoyama I also liked yuki too but im sorry but my heart is where it is (づ￣ ³￣)づ

Trying to compete with someone who's dead is a battle you're always going to lose. You never really stop loving those who passed away, I think. You kind of always have them with you. One of the things that I love the most about this manga is exactly that. It's realistic. The pain of losing someone doesn't just fade away, you just learn to live with it. Personally I don't think Uenoyama is going to "substitute" Yuki, it doesn't seem fitting with this author.
Having new feelings and falling in love again doesn't mean the love Mafuyu had for Yuki is going to go away. Mafuyu is not going to forget about Yuki at all, he's just going to move forward. Luckily, walking besides Uenoyama as a companion, I hope.

yeah i agree, you may still love them, but its not like your still "in love" with that person, because you fell outta love with them, but at they end of the day you"ll still remember them cus they were your first love ya know
thank you for basically summing how I feel about their relationship. I feel like people constantly compare the relationships. They make it seem like mafuyu doesn't love ue at all and is only dating him to date him. I feel mafuyu is learning how to move forward with his life. Im sure ue and mafuyu will make mistakes, but its all in effort to better understand each other. They aren't toxic, they just need to communicate better. They are still developing, so it make me disappointed when people think they should break up. Love is not like in the movie, its not easy nor instant. Its slow and requires effort to be maintained. It amazes me how raw the feelings are in this manga, I appreciate how realistic the characters are. They are messy and complex, but they mesh so well together. thank you for coming to my ted talk. sorry if this made no sense :)

ikr people have this misconception that relationships built on love is steady but it isn't . mafuyu has gone thru shit and is steadily regaining his mind … it might be long but they will get there and compairing them … ue and yuki is wrong cause they are deadass 2 very different people . mafuyu isn't replacing yuki with ue but rather he is falling for ue a completely different person ┑(￣Д ￣)┍
Okay I need to put this out there cause it's obvious some people don't get mafuyu and uenoyamas relationship. Mafuyu was In love with Yuki and he suddenly died .l. Mafuyu blamed himself and only cause of uenoyama he is getting over Yuki ... sure I get it Yuki is hot but it don't make him less dead . And people saying their relationship is unhealthy or toxic need to understand that this story is actually realistically portrayed you don't just get over the dead you know . Their relationship is quite good and both of them are growing together it's slow burn they will get there. If y'all think they should be all smiles and cuddles sorry guys that a dream not a relationship they have to build their steady foundation and truly their relationship will be stronger . It's all about time . And that's y I love the story ... he didn't just say fuck it Yuki is dead so uenoyama let's fuck ... no . He is slowly but steadily realizing what is now important what he has in this present what he will have in his future . This not the usual 5 chapter Yaoi that go from 1-9000 real quick this is pure bread development and I find it disrespectful people wanting them to break up cause like how will that make it better .. if anything they need to open up to each other and communicate clearly . Yuki is dead and as much as I love him to death . That doesn't change the fact that this is uenoyama and mafuyus loves story . Sorry for the rant
