Gotta throw a comment about Charlie Chaplin and Oona O'Niell's marriage. She was 18 when he was 54 / 55 yrs old, pretty much the same age as Oona's father. From what people/interviews etc say, they both seemed pretty much in love and stayed that way.
On the topic of age gap, I'm all for it as long as its a healthy love!
Age gap under a predatory context like grooming, power abuse, etc, which definitely goes into major red flag zone.
However in terms of the story, there could be some leeway with waiting for the student to be of age / potentially maturing and realizing.
