Idk. I dont think he abandoned her. plus we never know. Some parents give away their child because they are poor and they believe that the child could have a better life with richer parents. And after all those years of being apart, of course they will miss their child. And he probably had his reasons. Its harder to meet up with the child they gave away as the child gets older. The parents dont have the courage to meet the child they left. "What if she hates us" "What if she thought we hated her" "What if she doesnt want to see us" You know questions like that always haunt them along with their longing to meet their child.
Idk about this elemental king's brain since hes not even human lmao but in a humans perspective, although unacceptable its still reasonable.
Now Im all sad with this atmosphere lmao.
Extra : no need to read if u dont want to.
In this world there are a lot of things that we humans do, a lot of philosophy that contradict each other.
Some people may say that decision is wrong and its bad but others may say it is a wise choice.
I believe a choice made by someone is entirely up to that person to determine whether it is a good thing or not. Of course, things like murder or rape are without a doubt completely wrong in every way.
But when it comes to life choices, there is no correct or wrong answers. The person making the choice have to decide for themselves.
For example, you dont have enough money to buy both lunch and dinner so you decide to eat either of them only. No matter what choice you made, its for your satisfaction.
A lot of things seems so complicated to us but sometimes these complicated things have unexpectedly simple solutions where only we can determine whether its good or bad.
Why did u read this long ass stupid philosophy lol
i understand but from this http://iweb11.mangapicgallery.com/r/newpiclink/the_daughter_of_the_elemental_king/1/0bd085b2b675b648bc5010653ec42269.jpeg
it shows that he clearly grieving the mother however when he washes the child away at the end that child does not look ok at all. also when he looks at the child and asks why it almost seems as if he despises the child for taking the mother away. i just cant see him as a good father in anyway no matter what race he is. plus he only brought her back because he read the letter he says "your leaving our child... to me" which i think he realises that its his child as well as he says "that's what became of the aura i gave her"
still though, its kind of too late to raise the girl shes almost an adult. i can understand him wanting to see her and explain what happened and why she was abandoned. but wanting to suddenly raise her and make her stay with him. no, shes almost an adult hes far to late. idk why im so upset ive seen far worse fathers lol ( ̄へ ̄)
idk if i can side with him.
For me, I think its too late since the daughter is almost an adult and thus will be able to support herself soon and be independent. However, in terms of literal age like you said, shes basically a "baby" to him and only to anything else living that long in the first place. I'm not saying that its too late to spend time with her and whatnot since she will most likely live for a long time too, but how would you "raise" a being when they're at an age where they can already support themselves... thats my take on it; hopefully, that makes sense. ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
i hate this man so much first he abandons the child the person he loved made then basically drown's her then when she's happy with her new family he takes her away. Shitty ass father.

He don't deserve to even see the child
