I feel like, it's not that they can dismiss step siblings or adoptive siblings but there is some sort of comfort in knowing that they are not blood related. Blood related siblings are harder to accept in yaoi but this is a little more "acceptable" they may know each other from a young age but at least they don't share the same blood

Fair you’re applying irrational rationality which is fine in a fantasy but thinking beyond this context invalidates and creeps into the problematic when it’s seen as perfectly fine to fuck your step/adopted sibling regardless of shared environment and shared nurture. It doesn’t change that it’s still a social taboo and widely accepted as such. All the same it just comes down your moral boundaries or lack there of if this is a acceptable offense for the sake of entertainment and intrigue. It’s literally how we justify incest porn, for straddling the unattainable and instant gratification, the risk is what heightens the sexual arousal.

I completely agree with your point but even when we are not referring to manga, there are still many countries where blood related cousins gets married, yeah sure they are not siblings but for me that is far worse, real life incest is something that happens often, you always hear stories where father slept with daughter, mother with son etc which is far worse than this scenario.

Incest is not okay in any sort of way and I personally don't support it in real life but I'd be lying if I say it bothers me when it comes to manga.
