You seemed nice so I took the time to dig around mangaupdates. I searched the genres shounen-ai, yaoi, and tragedy. I combined these with the tags war/s, world war i, world war ii, soldier/s, military, incest, twincest, and forbidden love. I even searched anthologies and story collections. After 45 min, I could not find it. That either means:
1. It was not BL, just felt kinda gay
2. It was a one-shot at the end of some manga volume that was so forgettable, nobody bothered to notate or tag it.
I tried looking it up too but couldn't find it either and I think it might of been a story in another manga.

I believe this story was a one shot maybe shounen Ai about 2 brothers who are drafted into the military during ww2. Younger bro saves older bro and it is implied they are both in love with each other. I think it ends with both of them dying after an attack.
