Angry rant !!! why does Chloe accept her slave status so easily being a modern person before?

Currently on chapter 20. Even though slaves don't have any rights in this era, I just feel more and more angry as I read further. I'm angry that everyone is just using her for their own conveniences but thats understandable, they are people from that era. I'm more angry at Chloe for being modest and just wanting to live, even having an extra lifetime, she seems to have adjusted to her being a slave very nicely, I mean even if she accepts the circumstances outwardly, she should atleast have some anger or hate inside at this sort of treatment. With how the story is flowing I get the feeling that other people will just be moved by her kind and giving nature and will start giving her value and she is just going to be moved to tears by that !! I hope not.

She enjoys being a slave. She has more freedom before than being a princess. I know it seems like shes being taken advantage of and shes kinda being thrown around but honestly thats like heaven compared to how she was treated when she was a princess

You're forgetting something, she was a modern woman before who had her own independence and freedom. No matter how much her life is better as a slave, I don't think any previously independent person would accept it.

I honestly think there is a huge aspect of altruism, I know many rich friends who choose to serve and become caregivers and volunteers just because they really love helping out people. I think she sees this slavery as a chance to help people. Like helping the little girl sleep well, or medicine for curing people. It is shown in her character that she is indeed selfless, as she really wanted to save the horse. So it wouldnt matter if she had freedom or not, as long as she was helping people :D

I totally agree, I don't think that Female lead had spent 30-35 years in previous life and then 25 years in new life, when first reading I thought she was never reborn (yeah I didn't check the genre) she accepts everything very quickly and doesn't try to change things or even struggle.
Too bland in my opinion, I have only read 9 chapters till now I'll give it another chance.

I get your point, that can indeed be the case. But don't you think humans are more complex then that? If Chloe wasn't reborn and was just a slave girl, it would make sense but adding an extra layer to her background makes her more complex. She already lived most of her life before and in the flash backs there is no mention of her being a selfless person, she is only worried about her career, so if you show that sort of person being selfless suddenly it would feel unnatural

Oh and not to mention, I appreciate the beauty of the artwork of this manhwa, so that thing alone is making me want to read, although the characters... idk about that..

She accepts her slave status may due to her past experience. She don't enjoy her life in the past. Always struggling to past her exams which limits her freedom. Then she finally decided to take a new course of study as veterinarian then finally finish her collage at the age of 30. And she died at the age of 35. In her current life she was born as a slave and other slave are kind to her. That may be the reason she feels comfortable being a slave despite being a modern person before

It probably has to do with the fact that she sees the good in her situation? Why would she get angry at her being a slave when she’s made it very clear that her being a slave was the happiest she’s ever been? Look, slavery isn’t awesome and slaves were not seen as humans but what can she do in her situation? Getting angry won’t change her situation, and Chloe knows that. She acknowledges that people don’t value her and has never had anyone thank her. She recognizes that people don’t value her as a human, but she gets happy when there are people (a over her social class) who trust her and treat her with kindness.

hmm what you said somewhat makes sense, it is a very ideal scenario then. from a realistic point of view (at least in my mind) i would find it very hard to believe that a person would be mentally stable going through such tragedies, but i guess such people exist? they say dumb people are happier because can ignore reality and keep themselves in an illusion ¯_(ツ)_/¯ we just have a difference in opinion then.

I think this has to do with how the comic took out a lot of mature themes from the novel. What you’re saying is true- it’s hard to imagine a person being a happy slave. But, Chloe was born in a country that had relaxing laws for slaves. In the novel, they went more in depth with how Chloe got to do whatever she wanted in Elpasa in contrast to the Dukes kingdom. In the novel, Chloe was in shock that the Dukes kingdom had very harsh rules for slavery, and she was never aware of inhumane slavery.

She also started to regret if it was okay for her to be a slave again. Overall, Chloe wants to live a life that she won’t regret and be happy.

Oh my This has a novel??? Then I can understand why it feels weird here, for the sake of convenience alot of story and character building point must've been omitted. I'll give the novel a try. Thanks you seem like a faithful fan haha
