I’ll also maybe explain it a little better here, right now prince isn’t in love with our fl, he’s fascinated by her, she’s beautiful and different, as well as suspicious. But later on, he really does start to fall in love with her, but right now he doesn’t love her. But I was always a little curious about the presents. I don’t think it’s because he loves her, I think it’s because she wouldn’t accept his flowers, so he decided to make it where she had to accept, as well as have an excuse to spy on her.

Soooo...everyone wants to know how the prince loves our fl and the answer is- he doesn’t, he likes her, he enjoys her company. She’s snarky and different. Shes very beautiful and in the books there’s added detail about her looks. She maintains her “seductive” smile. She bewitches a lot of teen boys when she’s a teen herself because of her past experience. But with the prince she doesn’t do that, she knows all of the tricks young boys have (and men) and she was having none of it. And that’s why he finds her fascinating. She’s “polite” whilst being an absolute bish. Later on in the books you learn that the prince likes her ruthlessness and her darker side, he just likes her in general. He’s smitten but he doesn’t realise it, he’s acting like any other teenage boy who’s met a mature, beautiful teenage gal. He knows she’s intelligent and also- a big factor here. He’s investing certain things and she gave away earlier on that she knows some things, but she then played dumb. So when his mans reporting back that she seems really dumb compared to what he described her as, he’s probably like “of course she is...keep at it” (not realising it’s Millie and not our fl ).
Basically she’s this big, beautiful puzzle the prince is presented with. And whilst he’s trying to figure it out, he slowly starts to fall for her (and her him).
