I badly wanted to start this but the 'tragedy' tag scares me.

No don't be scared It's a happy ending for the leads but someone they know will die... So that made it kinda bittersweet for me! Still worth it though, I regret nothing!
P.S there is a live action of this manhua with the same name! It's really nice!
