I posted some of this awhile back but apparently I need to post it again as I still see lots of victim shaming towards Uriel because people are pissed he's interfering with the main ship and is found to be annoying. Personally I think he's fine?
But anyway, this is the worst comment section ever. Y'all are fucking wild. Victim blaming and shaming every where... The poor brother has every single right to react the way he does regarding the trauma the ML caused. He has PTSD. Him and his feelings are valid. Sure, you don't have to like him or whatever but he doesn't deserve to die and you can just "get" where the prince is coming because the brother is annoying/naive/too trusting/whatever dumb and unjustifiable reasoning you have. You guys just brush shit off or stay on the fence about whether or not Aquilla was a horrible person in the past which he WAS. I don't care what his reasoning was.
Aquilla has a very infamous reputation of being a ruthless, dictator-like person, and even a bit of a powder keg or ticking time bomb. Lamia and Uriel have every right to doubt his intentions when he all of a sudden does stuff that's highly out of character. Also, would you trust someone who purposefully abused and disabled you? Someone who abused and disabled your sibling? Hell fucking no. Trust generally does take some time to build but even more so when it is with a former person who has done beyond shitty things to you or a close friend or family member. Realistically y'all probably have a hard time forgiving ex friends or ex partners for whatever they did to you that was wrong. If one of those people in your life suddenly started to help you out of the blue and completely change tune you'd be wary and not easy to trust them because obviously there will be some notice behind it. Sure, Aquilla's motivation is loving Lamia but she doesn't know that and even if she did it still sounds hella shady because of his past track record.
Be realistic. Stop victim shaming and blaming. Y'all have a mentality in the sense of rape deniers when you say you doubt the second prince's abuse or side with him saying he's changed. "My son would never do that," "she was asking for it," "maybe she shouldn't have been drinking/partying/whatever the fuck somehow warrants a woman to get raped," "he's a good man you're just going to ruin his reputation," etc... All y'all say things that sound along those lines. "Uriel needed to stop being so naive/trusting/idealistic," "the second prince has changed now can't you see? Forgive him because he's saving your lives and pledged an oath," etc...
Unpack some stuff cause y'all really need to. Put aside your strong desire to just see your ship to sail because you're being shitty and perpetuating horrible attitudes and ones that are invalidating trauma.
