I think the increased focus on action is taking away the mystery, suspence, worldbuilding and character growth: we are shown less reasons for why a certain character does something, which makes the story feel rushed and confusing.
Also, I miss the character exploration of all the gangs: with Beastars I'd expect that to be incoorporated in the tale and foreshadowed throughout various interactions and with mini stories in between. It feels like the author's just rushing and doing whatever at this point.
What is even going anymore...
