She wants the good life of an empress without the hassle of having to deal with the emperor that will eventually fall in love with another woman and kill her

I’m pretty sure it’s because a marriage proposal from the imperial family is hard to cancel and would ruin your reputation of a noble so went through with it also securing a free life

    There's a variety of reasons.

    1) Have you ever heard of turning down the emperor's proposal? That's simply ridiculous. And even if she declined, unafraid of the consequences brought upon herself, you can't say the same for her family. They could if pressured her or maybe she even accepted while worried for them.

2)She's a queen. More than anything, it was to solidify an agreement or accord of sorts. She has the luxury and needs covered up, all while not having to perform marital duties expected of maidens her age.

3)It really isn't any hassle. Yes, she has to deal with two faced nobles and so and so, but not much more than if she were a regular socialite. The true life threatening problem came from her jealousy, and so since she's sure to not have any feelings in this lifetime, she feels no threat to being titled queen- which, by my understandings, is something like a concubine while the empress would be what we know as queen.

Also, perhaps it's a sense of comfort? By knowing your role in life, you know what to expect and prepare for it. She already has a clear path drawn out for her, and she knows what to do next. Deviating could change set line and push other less than savory plans in motion.
