I don't know why, but I got the impression, that you are very cute hahaha but yes! i totally agree...people are strange to not understand and appreciate many different kinds of characters who have a different personality, especially if it is different to the readers...that is what books and manga are about. to experience more than just life from your own point of view from very different perspectives. different world, ideas and failures and experiences and lessons. so that you can grow yourself and become more colourful. the only thing anyone should judge a story or a character by, even evil ones, are if they are consistent and multi dimensional. like is it some super simple, one layered character that makes no sense, or is it truly like "meeting and witnessing" a real individual? and is the story making sense within itself? is it catching your attention, no matter the content? things like this are what make a story and a character qualitative....nothing else
aww thank you very much. This is the first time someone called me cute lol. But yeah, I agree with you wholeheartedly. I don't really mind people giving their insights, but sometimes they just go straight to insult and calling names. It just makes me feel kinda sad sometimes bc I feel like people are becoming more and more distant. Like we just stop trying to understand each other or see from a different perspective. And people are just so mean on the internet sometimes.
Honestly, bless you for writing this. I always type up the exact same argument when explaining that most FL aren’t that bad but they don’t want to listen. A male protagonist is brave or simple minded with a good heart. But god forbid a female character show the same traits.
I'm not sure how to feel about all the negative comments about the FL. Personally, I have fun reading the webtoon in general, but I always feel down immediately after reading the comments. I wonder if the people who call the FL stupid are really that intelligent in real life. Are they the type that has high IQ and EQ, never makes mistakes, always carry themselves properly, always knows how to act in every situation... Sorry, I'm ranting right now, but I just feel overwhelmed with people (a majority of the time) hatting on the FL. I watch a lot of kdrama on viki, and the number of people hating on the FL from their appearance down to their characteristics, judging every little detail, is just appalling. I should really stop reading comments from now on.
