She knows damn well that taku liked ken that's why she blurted out everything in the end and even then she knew but still she hindered the two them from being together
I had to reread the manga bc i wanted to make sure that i wasnt just projecting. And i was right.
Nanae did not act entitled at all. She does not deserve the disrespect youre throwing at her. She had the right to slap taku like she did. He tried to manhandle her first (which can be argued as assault), then he started screaming at her. For what? For not being with ken? For prioritizing her own happiness by choosing glasses guy? She did not deserve the verbal vitriol that taku was spewing at her. She did not deserve to be made guilty by taku just because taku himself couldnt do the things ken did with nanae when they were in high school.
And what do you mean she knew about taku's feelings? She didnt! She explicitly said in the first few chapters that ken's ONE SIDED LOVE was getting old amd that he should just confess. She spilled everything to taku at the end because she likely felt too guilty about the whole thing. She was dragged into a situation she never asked to be a part of by ken. She was asked to lie to the people around her several times by going along with kens whims and pretending to date him. She VERY LIKELY snapped at taku during the phone call bc she and ken were no longer together and taku didnt know but expected her to still be there for ken.
You see how that is? See how these two boys put her in a situation so difficult that her default reaction, instead of lying like it was nothing, was to snap? She was under immense pressure from these two boys that she completely panicked and hid behind her boyfriend the moment she saw taku. She knew that taku should have known about whats going on with ken. But she also knows that ken wouldnt want her to tell taku bc the whole reason they started the fake dating thing was to convince taku that taku can go to tokyo and leave ken without worrying. IF SHE TOLD HIM ABOUT WHAT WAS GOING ON WITH KEN, THEN WTF WAS ALL THE LYING SHE AND KEN DID FOR? In the end, the pressure got to be too much for her and she ended up spilling everything to taku (whose feelings are still unknown to her btw)
Just say that ur one of those people who hate the girl in stories like these bc u see them as a hindrance to your otp. Because if you actually read the same manga, and tried to understand the character's motivations, you would understand why Nanae did not deserve the shit she got from helping these two.
Yall need to step tf back. Nanae did nothing wrong. She helped Ken because the poor boy was on his knees begging for her help. She lied to Taku bc she knew that Ken was right. He wasnt going to take the necessary steps to follow his dreams as long as Taku was convinced he had to protect Ken. For those of you saying that this wasnt how they should have handled this, yeah. Youre right. But guess what, you dumbfuck, they're teenagers!!! Theyre meatsacks full of emotion and hormones. Their judgment, at best, is cloudy, and they most likely went with the first plan they thought had any chance of succeeding. Youre really gonna sit there and tell me that you did nothing in high school that "you couldve handled differently" that makes you cringe now??
Nanae was a saint to even agree to Ken's stupid plan. And she did it thinking she was helping these two idiots. (Also, low key, if she didnt do that, Taku would have never found out he was in love with Ken but thats a fortunate coincidence.)
