Ive actually wanted to read this before cause the art was promising, but then i heard it had an animie and was even more intrigued, so of course id go to the animie first, but then i saw the description for that and it threw me off, cause, 15 YEARS OLD, in the description for the anime she was only 15 and not 16 (idk if it was changed, but anyway) im like totally okay wih young main characters and all, but seeing the word fifteen year old, next to BRIDE is just....NO.

Someone actually made a post about this on reddit saying sonething about child grooming, so now im having even more doubts on reading this ╥﹏╥

theres no cringe or love scenes if thats what youre thinking. honestly, her age isnt really a big deal in the story cause it focuses more on a ton of magic shit and adventures and her relationship with the magus is ultimately so pure and heartwarming that i cant even.

We're talking bout fatherly love/ pure heartwarming stuff right? The description on the animie just fricking threw me off, i mean if you'd saw the description on the animie first you'd also freak out, but since this is the manga imma give it a try ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

no not fatherly love. its definitely close to romantic love but not really there yet cause elias isnt human so hes not familiar with those emotions, and chise despite being human had never felt those emotions either. so they both grow together and learn to care and love all the while teaching each other. i havent really dug into the intimacy of their relationship because it didnt feel necessary but thats what makes it beautiful. so far, they both arent sure of anything, and theyre just basically going with the flow and are happy being able to be with each other. (for now cuz some villain sh*t is bout to happen)

Honey, stop worrying, nothing even resembling child grooming or pedophilia.

Maybe spoilers? Nothing story related though.

So anyway, Elias does indeed want Chise to be his "bride". But that's kinda due to him not knowing exactly what a "bride" is. (TBH, I think the title of this manga is just a bait). His teacher gives him a very PG description of what a bride is, and that's the extent of what he knows. So he has no intentions of grooming her or anything gross like that. His main goal is to teach her magic and save her in the long run. He is also very inexperienced with human emotions and humanity itself, which is something Chise is teaching him about, even though her own knowledge is limited. So they're mutually teaching each other. Their relationship is more fluff than actual romance, and it has the sweetness and purity of familial relationships. They have their issues and disagreements, as any two people do, but they're working through them together.

And the prior replies are also correct. The bulk of the story is about the magical inter workings of the world and the creatures that live in them. The rest is about Chise and Elias teaching each other and growing together.

Thanks for taking the time to explain a couple of stuff guys like i said i was really thrown off cause of the description of the animie on netflix, it was just a straight up child grooming description with no little details of what it would actually gonna be like, thanks a bunchヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~
