I just watched the handmaid's tale on amazon prime, where children getting married off young to men so they can make children. T-T I agree its not Pedophilia but 16 years is still damn young.
Well you can get legally married at under 17 years old in the US present time it requires court and sometimes parental consent.
Before getting married was a business and political thing so age didn't matter at the time and those that loved each other also ignored the idea of age...

For everyone raging about emel being the male lead and how you think it's "Pedophilia" (even though it ain't like ???). Y'all just need to take a second and think about what you're saying. Pedophiles are people that are sexually attracted to children. Our fl is 16 atm and ray literally said she was an adult now so 16 is considered an adult in this story (which makes perfect sense considering the time this story is placed in where getting married/engaged at 16 wasn't considered weird). So if Emel starts to take an interest in our fl then it won't be weird because there's only a 7 year age gap between them (which isn't even that long at all). So stop being lil whiny complainers and just drop the manga if you don't like. Because, surprise surprise, it's that simple.
