I completely agree. I think it would be a huge waste not to have Sawamura (with Miyuki as the battery) go against Narumiya. Given Miyuki and Narumiya's past/rivalry, it wouldn't make sense for those two to never face up against each other before they graduate. Plus Narumiya and Sawamura are both southpaws and Narumiya is considered one of the best pitchers, it would be odd not to have Sawamura grow really strong and defeat him. It wouldn't be satisfying if they never face Narumiya and can't go to Koshien as a battery
I agree. It'd be dissatisfying if they won't face narumiya with their battery. But I do believe that eijun and that freshman will have a great battery too. I think author-sensei will make them strong together with their battery and will go to koshien after miyuki graduated, but this is just my theory based on the previous eps.

i don't doubt he'd make a great battery with the first years, but if they don't go to koshien with miyuki, and sawamura doesn't defeat Narumiya, it'll just feel like a waste.
Honestly, i've been thinking about the direction Daiya no Ace is going and i really hope that Sawamura becomes a strong ace and is able to beat Narumiya. Imo if he doesn't beat Narumiya and go to koshien with Miyuki, it'll just be a huge disappointment, and make this whole journey of DnA pointless. It's bad enough that he fucked up that badly in his first game, and we don't see him much in all his glory, but i really hope the writer doesn't keep playing up Furuya while downplaying Eijun. They're both equally flawed in their pitching imo and making it seem like Sawamura is the only flawed pitcher is kinda annoying. For the sake of the series (and my love for Sawamura lol ), i really hope he proves himself ONCE AND FOR ALL and shuts everyone who doubted him up, and i really hope that happens while he's still a second year while miyuki and narumiya are still there.
