Actually... before he was captured by the emperor, he was sent as a slave by his family. At that point, he did not really have much of a choice. Slaves dont have human rights before. Anyway, after that, because of "fate" or "karma", he was captured by the emperor. Again, he cant do anything about it. Now, seeing the emperor's interest on him, of course he would retaliate because (1) he was traumatized, (2) he does not want to be raped. he would rather DIE than give himself to the emperor, (3) he just wants to run away cause he knows that the emperor will like him, regardless of anything, cause that is his karma. they are controlled by this "fate"/"karma" stuff and lastly (4) he is scared that the emperor will regain his MEMORIES like him. If the emperor regains his memories, all hell would break looses lol.

Actually in his first life shou was nobleman who was the eldest son of X (actually don’t remember it’s name.) family. He was working as an architecture. Then interacted with emperor and was raped and imprisoned. Then he reborn after hundred something year later in the body of eldest son of X family (means the same family) . But was mistreated because he had blue eyes as his original body. His family loathed his original self for nearly destroying their family. Because he never yielded emperor became tyrant and killed his consorts and other human or animal.
Eventually emperors guess emperor ...shou is victi. Even so he wasn’t clever. It is all just my thought so don’t take so seriously. In my opinion he should have make it easier fo himself.
Shou is really dumb. He should have just put up with the emperor on the surface...why bother saying there are three other consort with you or I won’t get this title. With or without the title his role is that of a woman’s and he will cry and torment himself in his mind after those three consorts died. He was the one who started. He should have think wisely before doing something. In any case because of him W*** emperor became crazy. And after reborn he should have get himself calm down and act low key.
