Tbh I’ve never thought too hard about it until I read this comment. The dom’s actions are turning more into emotional abuse more than sexual domination, and the sub needs to run away as fast as he possibly can. The toxicity in their relationship has developed to a point it’s CLEARLY abusive. I don’t know if his character’s worth the reception arc anymore...

I think he stays around abusive relationships because he wants to feel any bit of secure I guess. It’s hard being with abusive people because no matter how bad you wanna leave you’ll prevent yourself from doing so. People don’t leave because they feel as though they deserve nothing but pain. :(

It's not okay, but I feel like, if there's a redemption arch I COULD forgive Md, but it also depends on how the author goes about it

the sad thing is that Chanwoo wouldn't know when it's time to run away given his past relationships. it seems like he endures it both physically and emotionally until he can't anymore

I literally just wrote a whole comment, inspired by this post, on redemption arcs in this webtoon. Legit just posted it, just now. It’s this big ol’ rant, but to sum it up—redemption arcs for abusive tops that don’t do anything to really deserve the bottom’s forgiveness? Gross. Over it. Seeing the bottom forgive them anyway? Nasty. Over it.

Redemption arcs are a delicate art, and honestly? This author butchered it.
