To you, the immortal is one of my favourites. It's about a immortal being who can only take the form of dead people they meet or intimate objects they have touched(and can also make objects from their body that they also touch) who learns how to act like a human and eventually has to save the world from creatures who want to end all mankind to eradicate all pain.


They meet lots of different people who become his/her friends but they all die in the end and he has to take their forms to defeat the creatures such as a boy who can breathe fire or a spirit bear who's bodies can help him fight better. They go from many different eras and eventually *spoilers for part 2* go into the modern era and they are basically veiwed as a messenger of God who will fulfil a prophesy and bring peace to the world as written in many ancient texts and essentially has their own bible. However they have been laying dormant for many years and has to rediscover the modern era.




There is some romance but it's very small in part one but it is still pretty good and the main character has someone who falls for him and keeps reincarnating instead of going to heaven to be by the immortal's side but it's one sided and the main character keeps rejecting them. However they reincarnate in both genders but the immortal doesn't technically have a gender but they can take forms of both male or female so I wouldn't count it as shounen or shoujo ai.



Trust me you will be hooked when you read the first chapter alone.
