but isn't it how children are? most children just want what they don't have and a family that loves them especially. I"m not saying it isn't frustrating to read about her, cause it is! it really frustrating to see her so much. but take into account she is sure that he is her father (like she was told all her life) and she just wants to be loved.

right but her uncle doesn't love her? and i don't feel she's forcing herself. its not like anyone came out and told her they didn't want her their. i don't think its wrong for her to have hope. and she considers athy her sister which i think could be a cute relationship. the real problem is the blakc father guy who is poisoning her relationship with athy, and her father who does,'t know how to love more than one person at a time.

thats the kind of attitute that causes misunderstandings though. Like she isn't able to read minds so how is she supposed to know something is wrong? If you want people to understand you, you have to be straightforward, so the fact that she hasn't picked up on any discomfort is more the fault of athy and the king for trying to hide it. If you notice, she does pay attention to how the characters are feeling, like helping athy when she seems sad and noticing that the king is missing her. We as readers are privileged to see athy's thought processes, but athy is a good actress so the other characters are not likely to be able to. from janette's perspective, she isn't getting in the way of anything. Athy is obviously the favorite daughter and janette doesn't even think it's possible to push her out, she is just trying to get closer to her family.

if she does pay attention to how the character are feeling then she should have notice that anthy was feeling uncomfortable and she did notice but she ignored it. they weren’t even hiding there discomfort it was clearly shown janette is just ignoring it and pushing through hoping that they would feel differently. plus she helping anthy because she wants to feel good about the idea of helping her “sister” and her “father” she’s doing it for her own gain. she wants to feel good that she’s being included in the “family”. she’s only thinking about herself and doesn’t notice the situation of the people around her. cuz if she just take a moment she would notice the king is losing weight and how horrible he looks while anthy is worried about him and is sad about it. but her janette is content with everything happily drinking tea. she doesn’t care about anything that going as long as she got to spend time with her so called family.

I mean the main culprit is the older brother. He's the main cause of Athy's suffering now and even from the beginning. Claude is like this because he has an effed up family and older brother. Even now that they're older he saw that Claude was finally happy with Athy and he was like: Nah, I gotta ruin them even more. If it was the original Athy she would have already been killed by Claude because of the curse that damned older brother casted on him. His own daughter is nothing but a tool he uses, I really hope things don't turn out well for him. None of the "forgiveness" bs, let him rot in hell!

it is more that she is being deliberately kept out of the loop. Athy's discomfort is not that obvious. even when jannette questions it, athy's response reassures her rather than makes her feel excluded. Furthermore, jannette does not know claude very well. It isn't like she is aware of his sleeping or eating habits like athy is. I wouldn't say that wanting to get close to your family is selfish. She is estranged from her 'father' and 'sister' and wants to get to know them however she can, but she doesn't take the initiative often, rather it is the duke that pushes her forward. For janette, she is happy getting to know them. before Claude lost his memories, she didn't try to push closer to him, but tried to get to know athy instead. she isn't really looking for special treatment, or to be their favorite, just to know more about where she came form and who she is. She is a bit naive, but she is also young, and unlike athy, she doesn't have the maturity of a reincarnated person. She is also missing a lot of the context to be able to make the kinds of intellectual leaps that you want from her.

I really agree with you here. Furthermore since she grew up in a sheltered life where literally her whole 14 years of life was stuck inside Mr White's mansion. Also not to mention it was shown in the manwha that Mr white and his boy are known to be very straightforward with her. Thus, it should understandable that she can't read people's feeling that well and she is quite a dense character due to her upbringing. Another thing is that Athy had always gave responses and replies that do not truly reflect her feelings and only we reader are provided with the privilege of knowing it. So it's just my opinion but honestly I would too find it very hard to understand the atmosphere and the feelings of athy when she most of the times don't express her true feelings.

I mean she is 14? And not every teen work especially at age 14. Like I am pretty sure most teens that age are still dependent on parents as the most they can do is work part time? Also I won't say meddling in other families business as she was led to believe her whole 14 years of life that athy and claude was her 'real' family. I mean I do get your point that she is quite a dense and childish character but I guessed it's kind of understandable? Considering the fact that she was kind of locked of in the mansion for her whole life so obviously she is not equipped with the maturity and understanding.
sorry for everyone who is pro-janette but nah i can’t she’s just so fucking ditsy and it’s annoying like athy literally had to work her way into be favored by the king so it’s fucking annoying to see janette walking up in here like she belongs. also it’s so obvious that the king and anthy doesn’t really want her to be part of the family yet she ignores that and was like it’s ok i just need to work harder like um no. it’s ok to be nice and everything but it’s not ok to be oblivious like your clearly not welcomed.
- here comes all the comments who are gonna defend janette like bro you really want a ditsy dumb bitch who only thinks about herself. everyone who says she was helping anthy and everything are dumb cuz she’s doing it to make herself feel good and included
