On of the beginning chapters said he went missing it doesn’t say for how long and what was happening after he returned just that he went missing in high school

this is not related to the chapter but, I read a few Ao3 fanfic of 19days and I keep on getting the same back ground like Jian Yi was missing for 2-3years, and when he get back the 3 other is already in college. is it true? coz I re-read the whole thing trice and I dont seem to find that fact. But if anyone new the answer please feel free to inform me. tnx
