yessss agreed!! the almost rape was a very lazy way to add conflict. it just depicted the seme in a completely different light, for absolutely no reason. ugh, just a big shame
I know right! The seme until that point, and even after that, was such a sweet guy...it really looked forced and out of character...and it really served no purpose to the story apart for unnecessary conflict...
I am ok with drama and a bit of angst, but they could have chosen another way in my opinion

I was super pissed and disappointed when the seme tried to almost "rape" the uke...it was really out of nowhere. Don't get me wrong, I am never someone to be mindful of these things in fanfics, but sometimes they get annoying and repetitive. Mostly because I loved the seme more then the uke...and to throw a thing like that just for drama for me was like such a contrast to the seme sweetness until that point. I am happy though how they handled it after that though, how the uke responded (rare in this yaoi world) and how the seme was sorry and apologetic (even rarer). Most of the time, they depict rape as if it's almost "normal" and they romanticize that and never address the behavior...so this is definitely a step ahead.
Again I am not someone who gets all pissed for these things in mangas (even If I don't blame the ones that do...sometimes it's just too much), but it's undeniable that sometimes it's such a bullshit how authors always try to fit rape rape in stories that really don't need it.
