If you guys still read Harada's mangas and think this is supposed to be romanticized you're awfully wrong. It's meant to disgust you and make you uncomfortable. If you read other works like Yatamomo (yay) or Immoral Sex (yikes), you would understand the difference between what's supposed to be romance and what's not. (Or don't read them, I don't care and I'm not going to tell you what to do.)

Also you guys need to calm down saying fujoshis are bad people or "wrong". Just because some people happen to have rape fantasies and are fujoshis does not mean that they we all have them. And not all of us read nor support that shit, whether a fujoshi or someone looking at regular ass porn or literally porn. I don't care WHO it's coming from, you don't get to declare who's what and who's not.

Thanks. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

(P.S. I don't condone kink shaming people for their sexual fantasies as long as they recognize the difference between fantasy and real life, and who always practice consent.)

as a gay man, i dont enjoy fujoshis making my sexual orientation into a porn genre rather than, yknow, a sexual orientation. it makes life literally miserable, any gay media is polluted with women in the comments saying "im wet" and stuff, we dont get any media for us whatsoever and on top of that, as aforestated, its fetishized.

fujoshis are the ones who are closed minded. refusing to understand how youre harming lgbt people and making life miserable for them more so than it already is you insist on horrid behavior. please grow from who you are currently and acknowledge your flaws.

while i agree on how theyre not supposed to be romantic and rather, repulsive, the fans, one of which is a LITERAL 12 YEAR OLD GIRL, are seeing it as normal and romantic and sexy. its just...fucking horrifying ngl.

I'd say it's more close minded to force your opinions on people saying that a person's hobby is inherently wrong. Who are you to say or decide how and what people should enjoy. It's fine if you personally dislike yoai or shonen ai but just because you feel a certain way it doesn't justify you to tell people they have horrid behavior because they dont follow your specific guide lines of how to be act. Sexualization of someone's sexuality happens to everyone. Humans are visual creatures. The same way hetero men sometimes sexualize lesbianism or being bi. If a person's interest or fetish is making your life miserable maybe you should ask yourself why your taking someone else's opinon so seriously that it goes on to make your life worse. I consider myself a fujoshi because I like to read a lot of yoai and shonen ai. But at the same time I Don't ship people into homosexual relationships in my real life. I like reading it because I find it less cringy than the usual shojo romance novel. Also because the characters tend to be more upfront with each other. I think people should decide for themselves what they want to do with their time. Hetero women just like hetero men are attracted to the opposite sex, some of them even like to see them in homosexual relationships. Why? It's visually stimulating. Does it make them bad people? No, not in my opinion, they just like watching that kind of thing. You have the right to have your opinions, but so do I.

nice essay, many good points, however it doesnt make anything okay.
first off, youre not a fujoshi if you simply enjoy BL and dont look at real life porn or specifically get off to it.
continuing, youre entitled to your opinion, however when the opinion is simply wrong, its frustrating. blindly defending something harmful with an explanation of why it happens is bad. my argument isnt about w h y they get off to gays, its how them getting off to gays isnt okay. if you refuse to listen and insist on harming actual gays by invading gay media with comments like "IM WET" and shit then thats your life, doesnt mean that im not allowed to be irritated when im forced to look at it.

I'm confused about what you mean by gay media, like do you mean gay YouTubers, shows that discuss homosexuality, or porn. If the "I'm wet" comment is something that appears on YouTube channels then I would get why it would be irritating, especially if its inappropriate for the topic of the video. But if it's porn, the way I see porn is as a medium for people to enjoy what sexually arouses them with no discrimination on who or what they watch, of course I have moral exceptions like minors and stuff like that. Obviously this is my opinion but I don't see a problem with people getting off to homosexual sex in general, as long as the content is made with that intention. Porn is porn in my eyes. But at the end of the day people are can do as they please┐(´ー`)┌. I'm curious to know why you think it's harmful if you don't mind, like do you think it sets a bad image for the LGBT community, or something else.

I think you should just leave it. Honestly he's not going to consider anything other than what he already thinks and he's set on it being wrong no matter what. He already said we're entitled to our opinion and that the opinion is 'wrong' so I'm not even interested in discussing this anymore.

P.S. I agree with the "I'm wet" thing but that's trashy in any case regardless.

the problem is that, usually kpop fans, are in the comments of regular pornography commenting things relating to that, invading the space and sexualizing the members and homosexuality. by viewing homosexuality as a special sexy genre rather than a place for gay people to be able to view things that match their orientation. straight women are able to enjoy regular stuff, but they insist on fetishizing and treating homosexual things as a fantasy. its degrading, not to mention those who refer to it as "sinning." its a complicated issue, which goes a LOT further than "people can get off to what they want to." the line is drawn when it involves dehumanizing minorities.

I get what you mean now. I also find that annoying, but as an actual gay person I can understand why it could be frustrating seeing your sexuality used like that. But I like to believe not all fujoshis or K-pop fans are like that, although I've never met a fujoshi or a kpop fan irl. Maybe as they realize that shipping people irl can be offensive to the gay community they'll stop being as open about it in comment sections and other places like that. Although I think it's inevitable that some people will keep shipping, at least in their heads, not publicly. But I still believe that people should masterbate to what they want, granted as long as it's not illegal. I'm saying this coming from the perspective that people in general should have the freedom to live their lives the way they choose to, not because I want being gay or any other sexuality to dehumanized. Im just a strong believer in liberty.

My argument was that not all fujoshis are like that (being disrespectful and rude) and a normal person would know what's appropriate and what's not. I also agreed that the whole "I'm wet" thing in comments would be annoying. I don't know why you're making it seem like I said something I didn't. I've considered your argument and I agreed with you on some points. The only thing I didn't agree with was people in the comments section saying ALL fujoshis are disgusting and disrespectful to gay people online with the shipping and etc. There's extremists in everything and they shouldn't be grouped together with regular people and give us all a bad name.

That's all I was saying. I was never 'going off'. Thanks.
