Well I guessed it could be that originally she doesn't think that she is the real athy ? Like she think she just transfer into the novel so in a way it's like she know how originally claude treated previous athy.Thus, she is more accustom to it?. But at least things seems to be more smooth sailing now... ╥﹏╥
Imo, even tho she is aware that she's not the "real athy", as someone who has spent most of her life time in that world since she was an infant, it's only normal for her to grow some feelings toward claude who is her father. Especially if that father figure was previously very unapproachable to her that she had to put lots of efforts to build a good relationship which thankfully bore some fruits. I mean, though it took some time, claude really acted and treated his daughter athy as if she were the most pecious jewel in the world. So, how could athy not grow attached to him?
I think I didn't make myself clear, that's my bad. But what I intended to convey was that since from the start she she knew how athy was treated in the novel, it at least made her know that claude can act like this. So it's not so sudden that claude started treating her like trash, I am not saying that the whole situation was not sudden but at least it did I guessed in a sense help her prepare better. As let's say that had she not know the novel's plot and their relationship continues in this path and one day this happened, it would have definitely struck her worse than now. Obviously I am not saying she is not that affected at all nor I am denying the fact that she grown attached to claude but simply giving my opinion that this could have been a factor to help her remain strong rather than just being a simpleton as she is more emotionally prepared. I mean ya know what I'm trying to say?
I feel somehow relieved that Athy is sort of a simpleton cuz if I were her, I would've felt depressed being treated that way by someone whom I love..
