Ok but like I don't think the mother deserves the hate lmao. She genuinely wants Aine to fit into the category of what's "normal" to her. She thought she had a chance because he was still a child. From that perspective, she's kind of right because we're heavily influenced by our childhood. But that's exactly why she can't completely reverse him, he's already influenced as a member of his notorious family. The effects of what he's been taught and the reality he's living in have already kicked in. He clearly understands his situation, that's why he's continuing his training. But she doesn't. She's focusing on giving him a happy childhood, as naive as that may seem. You can't deny it reflects her kindness. Honestly, that kind of kindness is pretty lethal in the world she ended up in. I think that part of her wants to escape reality, hence her focus on Aine. And yall better not come at me saying she's not kind to the Duke blah blah. He threatened her and he's an adult. Once you're an adult, changing becomes harder because some concepts have already been ingrained. As for the threat, someone from modern society where spilling blood is one of the highest form of crime will naturally react the way she did seeing a dead body. Even if the Duke didn't mean to threaten her, what's "normal" to him and to her body's past owner isn't normal to her. Obviously she would take it as a threat. Yall make it seem so easy to suddenly adapt to such an environment and begin speaking and thinking as such. You can't, because you yourself have some internalized values from your experiences in modern society. She didn't have to worry about being poisoned or assassinated in her past life or even expect that to happen. Be it to her or her loved ones. How is she suddenly supposed to understand that? You think it's logical and easy because you're a reader seeing all of the character's perspectives and true thoughts. You start assuming shit. I like the mother. Even if Aine is putting up an innocent facade, she was still able to move him. I'm sure here and there, he shows a genuine smile. You can't deny she gave Aine another reason to become stronger, a reason other than surviving or inheriting his father's legacy. To protect what's dear to him, to protect the only person who gently smiled at him, who loved and praised him. She didn't give him empty words or crocodile tears. She made him feel loved and cherished. In a sense, she gave him something he truly needed. You can't tell me she's not a good character. I mean, of course she's gonna be a bad character if you expect every single reincarnated person to be a genius at adapting, critical thinking, seeing through lies etc. She's a normal citizen from the modern era. I'm sure at some point she'll find out about how SHE was the innocent person, not Aine. And even then, she will still love him. She'll start to understand the situation he's in eventually. That's what I'm waiting for. I want to see Aine finally being loved while being himself. At this point I kinda don't care about the romance lmao

Aye... Totally agree with you... Some people r just hating her for som stupid lil reason... Thts unreasonable... Well as u said... We just gonna see how this turned out... Cause i definitely want to see it... N logically we cant really help feeling annoyed but we need to see the world from her pov(point of views) n try to understand it while the story builds up in different kind of world tht shes thinkin of... I cant really see people blatantly hate the mc...
