when the crown prince was still a child it was the duke's family that decided to support the other prince (who died) instead of the crown prince. The empress never forgave de duke's house for their betrayal in loyalty, even though the duke's house supports the crown prince now. That's why she hates Charti (she's not fond of Irene at all, since Irene would be a useless empress but her grudge against the duke's house is too big to ignore)
But she is a useless princess that can be manipulated..
Oh....i thought only the prince was displeased with that incident. No wonder the queen doesnt want charti to be the princess ┑(￣Д ￣)┍
yeah but once there’s no one left to manipulate her,(ie. the empress dies or something) someone else will use the useless empress as a puppet and it could cause the downfall of the kingdom if the wrong person used her
I think it has to do with charti's father siding with the emperor when the other price was alive to become the next emperor. Sorry, i dont remember his name

Guess she wants to be queen dogwager (I pretty sure I wrote it wrong). So if her son is not king then that title is out of the question for her since the kings mother would take the title.. but I'm just speculation things on my part .
I can understand why irene dislikes charti but why is the queen against charti so much that she didnt even hesitate to summon beast just to harm her?
