I think demon lord thought approaching her this way will be difficult why not reincarnated as Ivan and be with her! Bc I think if you remember when she died Ivan is the one who came there first. He did said that "I'll find you" ig something like that.. wheeee!!
Ivan was the only one who was able to recognize Charlotte even after she lost all her mage powers and he was always there in order to protect her from any kind of danger.....He reincarnated as Ivan so he could become closer to her whether the only way is to become her pupil......Between I am rooting for Ivan to be Charlotte's love interest (●'◡'●)ﾉ

When I first started reading this comic first chapter, demon lord appear o I always thought that he loved Charlotte but being the ''Calamity'' he can't do anything so he tends to die from Charlotte hands and even at his last breath he kept saying that we'll meet soon do he just could'nt give up on her and now Ivan appears where he might be reincarnation of demon lord or all along was a demon lord who came to get his love
