ehh, I see you got very passionate. however cole wasn’t sober.. you’re thinking of brad, who said he “wasn’t even tipsy”. Cole was literally drunk. Furthermore, he wasn’t dumping alex for brad- he realized he didn’t feel comfortable around alex unlike how he is with brad; he became aware he was only obsessed with alex, not in love with him. he said clearly in the chapter that he was going to dump Alex and live with Brad, he was going to do it and he didn't felt any guilt about it. read the chapter again that all I have to say to you. if you want to ignore this part, it is your problem.

He was joking when he said he didn’t like the idea of them being roommates. And looking at the expressions of cole when deciding he and alex should break up, he did seem nervous. It’s not outright said “he is wary of breaking up.” You need to look at context clues. We both have different views on what’s happening, that’s fine. I think cole is just very mentally unaware right now. He can’t fathom two guys willing to be with him (and both happening at the same time) so he gives up thinking it through and just goes with the flow. However, I feel like alex planned this because of what that girl said in the chapter before this one, “I can’t wait to see your face when you find out what alex is really like”.. also, when they’re intimate, brad actually blushed and seemed flustered with cole; something I haven’t seen alex do.
