btw, you don't have to apologize. I've went to checked the author's weibo and seems like a lot of people didn't know the pink head guy is the real mate. (Me too, though I mostly couldn't remember what happened since I've been reading this every week when it updates) The author even said so in the comment section. Real mate did appear earlier in the story and hints were dropped too.

Also, at first I didn’t know what was going on. I thought its just bad guys plotting something to do something bad for the MC those usual cliche but the author’s note made it even more confusing to me because she didn’t drop any hints. She only showed the pink haired guy and the snake guy together.
I just hope the author didn’t just thought this through one-sidedly because if the MC is a fake one, doesn’t mean she has to throw him away all of a sudden since the cover of the manhua is like the MC has pink hair. I mean what was the point. Though to be honest, this ‘fated one’ whole thing, I wanted to see a “Only i can decide my own destiny” thing haha...

First of all, there's a huge confusion regarding who is the real mate and who is the fake mate. To be clear, the pink-haired person is the REAL mate of LuBailang( Our ML, the wolf). Whereas our MC, XiaoBei is a FAKE mate who was modified by Lu Danqing(The snake) and the pink hair person(The real mate).

There are a lot of readers who are quite confused about the current plot, it's due to my lack of ability to express everything clearly and simply (crying).
The thing is:
It is currently known that⸺the pink-haired person is Lu Bailang's real mate, and XiaoBei is a fake mate who was modified by Lu Danqing and the pink-haired person.
Originally Lu Danqing wanted the pink-haired person to attend the auction to attract Lu Bailang's attention. However, the pink-haired person prefers thrilling situations, therefore he chose to become merchandise instead. But, due to an accident with XiaoBei, they got swapped. Lu Bailang and the pink-haired person met earlier than planned, and XiaoBei was sent to be merchandise at the auction instead. In other words, Ji XiaoBei is fake merchandise, but he is being used as a tool.
Lu Bailang's sincerity is directed at the wrong person. The real mate is not an easy person to deal with.
