I feel like it’s because most of them are still greedy assholes. Only the children seem to be decent people
It's not easy to forgive such things even if people who did this all are long dead. Look at the history, many people are still angry at germans. If you forgive it doesn't mean you forget, but it's still hard to do so. Even harder when you weren't the one who suffered.
I think it's also because they didn't know why they weren't able to use magic. They just thought that fairy's cursed them for no reason and were pissed of for century's about it. Now that they know, they can repent and earn forgiveness.
Understand the fact why the spirits hated them in the first place. Yes it may have been 200 years ago but also know how they were killed. They were hanged in crosses and they were brutally killed by the king. They cried, begged him to set them free but that bastard king did not listened because of his greed and selfishness. Just because it happened too long ago doesnt mean they'd forget espiecally to the spirits who faught to that greedy king. They never forget. Because they saw everything...every gruesome and horrid details they saw it all. The faces of their fellow species killed. Now tell me..would you still forgive selfish bastards who wants nothing but power? Even though theur greed will kill an enormous amount of people and souls?
Also it maybe 200 years but we don’t know how that time frame translate to spirits, since they live far longer than humans. Therefore it may seem like a long time for us, but to them it may still be nothing. Plus once a spirit turns vengeful it’s like they are stuck in that cycle forever until it’s resolved. (Just wanted to add to the point the comment above were making)
I don’t wanna annoy y’all, but I just realize it’s similar to how Adam and Eve, where they’re sins are forever felt by everyone, even thought we for sure didn’t do anything(it weird to bring the up,but I thought it would also be a good point(〜￣△￣)〜
Am I the only one who gets the feeling that the royal family is being villanized? I mean come on, the cursing happened 200 years ago, it has nothing to do with the royal family of today. Why are not forgive them and hold onto your grudge? Somehow that annoys me...
