the "mongolian" in the manga aren't mongolians in the first place. chinese used to be called as mongols in past. even now, some textbooks aren't corrected and people of han chinese descent are still called as mongols despite having no relation to mongolia

As a mongolian, the depiction is so weird and unaccurate (just personal opinion). But i think its meant to be fantasy and using the image of a 'mongol' only serves as a certain narrative symbol. Same as the orientalism mixed with geographically different other tropes in this work. But i love senseis work ^^ ty for translating!!!
