Y'all...

A lot of people have been commenting that the first round companions were evil, but I really don't think so...

So here's the thing, I personally think nobody in this manhwa is generally good, except Lanuvel (absolute babby). The companions are all just stereotypical characters, like those typical ones you'd see in a isekai manga or a old jrpg, and the reason why they treated the MC like shit is because his personality isn't the typical hero personality that this world is "designed" for. That's why with the Hero B, the characters are all acting like the typical isekai characters. The MC isn't great either, like how he views the isekai world as "barbaric" and yet he keeps on murdering billions of sentient beings without any remorse (which at this point is just fucking hilarious). I think that the reason why a lot of us have such visceral reaction to the MC's companions is because of their naivety. All of them are like a shitty 8th grader's idea of "fleshed out" heroes, since all their "noble" goals actually conflict with their world's reality. I don't think this makes them bad, just very very very fucking annoying, (which the author definitely did on purpose, or else we'd feel bad about MC killing them and ruining them). All in all, even though I don't think they're bad, I will be thoroughly enjoying the revenge MC will be executing...

MC just wants to go home. He was abducted from his daily life. He enjoys his previous life. He dislike his experience in this new world.

Unlike hero B who is completely the opposite.

I say the gods and the moral professor are the true evil ones. They just don't want to return MC to his previous world.

Gotta give the guy a good chunk of slack. He lived through his prime years once dealing with people he fucking hated, cleaning up their messes, and living through an absolute hell of physical and mental pain. He did not want to be there, lived half a life in what was basically hell, was charged with keeping the world in order, and the people who should be in charge to help him in some way either screwed him or didn't do anything to help. And then he had to deal with a fucking witch doctor coming out the ether to scold him for not being a good hero and to do it over, that it wasn't good enough, and that now he has to do it again with what had to have been a social outcast on earth.

He lived through hell, told he should enjoy it, enjoyed it in the only way he could, and has been told to do it again. After like 20 years of that sort of treatment and all hope for returning home you'd lose empathy too.

Witch doctor? You are too kind. At least witch doctor can do some kind of sorcery.

I call her a masked bitch. She does nothing but yapping.

True!!! I completely forgot about the "ethics" mentor, and GOD is she annoying. I mean it's pretty fucked that she just situates him in a totally different world and asks him to follow her beliefs, and also she's not that great of a teacher, is she? To the cutting slack thing, I sorta agree, as in I think that the MC definitely lived through fucked experiences but I'm confused on why he thinks his actions are heroic/ethical. Does he really think that or is he just fucking with the Gods, killing their toys over and over again? Cause if he really wants to go home, why not just act perfectly like Hero B and just tough it out? ( I realize that that's pretty idealistic, since if it was me I would just murder them over and over, but MC is a lot smarter and logical isn't he...)

Probably because he doesn't think anyone in the world (Aside from a slime) is worth being treated well. And he's the hero of one kingdom, so as long as it survives he's fine. Doesn't matter what wars have to be waged, they got to get what they need somehow and if he fucked around following B's example he'd burn 10+ years in that hell where clearly nobody likes him already except the least likeable person in the story. But I'm sure even if he did that professor bitch would show up all 'Oh well you didn't learn anything you just followed B blindly'

They are rather similar horribly naive and idealistic hero's party type characters. However they have flaws that make them bad companions and it seems like he's expected to not only give everyone a chance but to somehow know how to fix them since they can't seem to manage it by themselves. The knight guy (was it Alex?) didn't seriously train him and beat him up obsessively to satisfy his ego and violent impulses. He only seriously trained hero #2 after getting knocked down too far to act tough anymore. The elf was a psychotic, impulsive, human-hater who i don't even know where to begin to try to fix that. There was that princess who went all insane and paranoid. I don't know if that was her original personality or if she became like that b/c assassins. But what's he supposed to be some psychologist, counselor, or something? The archeologist is just naive and annoying but not really problematic except for his grudge. Rather than treating everyone normally to get normal back it really feels like he needs the tolerance of a saint and like a degree in counseling or something.

Dude, I absolutely agree with you on the fact that his original party is absolute shit. It's just that I wasn't saying to treat them "normal" to get "normal" back, rather just to pretend to be a brainless "Hero A' character. Maybe its just cause I've been in customer service too long, but I basically deal with people like this all the time (just replace human-hating with racism). The only way to make them leave, especially if you have a shit manager/absent manager, is to act like their "friend" (a little bitch puppet). Obviously the ideal situation is to have dignity and fuck them up, but that wont solve the situation... IDK man, maybe I just dont give a shit about myself anymore LOL.

It hasn't been twenty years, the first round was 10 years and the second was 22 days also from the second round on he totally changed everything around him so he wasn't treated the same way at all.
