Stupidity everywhere

Well, the basic idea was really nice. But honestly there were quite a few things bothering me.
Like, yes, Omegas are less likely to get pregnant by betas, but that does not mean it's safe.
Furthermore that they didn't consider normal contraceptives just boggles my mind. In which universe is taking a untested drug the better option over getting a vasectomy or in case of the omega some for of uterus removed. Yes, hormonal treatment like the pill would probably not work on them, but there are other safer options.
And then the whole think about the meds. It made me so mad, like that is not how pharmacy works! Let me tweek the formula, my ass. Even changing one (one!) single bond between atoms can turn a drug from helpful to toxic or useless. Besides that drugs need years of testing. (which is the reason why there still is no vaccine for Covid-19).
I just can't fathom why they went with these choices.
As much as I liked the first few chapters, as soon as the science side got involved, it went downhill for me. And to all those, who desperately want to see babies: not wanting to have children is legit. And a risk for discovery in the world those to life in.

True, but also where do they get the suppressants from if there supposedly are no more omegas and alphas? No company would make drugs for an extinct population.
